Longines Hong Kong International Races – where fervour meets elegance
Longines was very proud to be the Title Partner as well as the Official Timekeeper and Watch of the Longines Hong Kong International Races for the third year running. The programme of this remarkable event held on Sunday 14 December at Sha Tin Racecourse included four international Group 1 races, which were a perfect conclusion to a thrilling year for flat racing.

A Record number of 78,000 spectators witnessed the victory of Maxime Guyon on Flintshire in the Longines Hong Kong Vase (2400 m). Zac Purton riding Aerovelocity triumphed in the Longines Hong Kong Sprint (1200 m), while João Moreira with Able Friend grabbed first place in the Longines Hong Kong Mile (1600 m). As for the Longines Hong Kong Cup (2000 m), it was again won by João Moreira, this time with Designs on Rome. All the winning owners, trainers and jockey were awarded trophies and elegant Longines timepieces.

These high-level races were also attended by Longines Ambassador of Elegance Eddie Peng, one of Asia's greatest stars. Its outstanding class and charisma made him the ideal candidate to present the Longines Prize for Elegance to the lady declared the most elegant lady of the day at Sha Tin Racecourse.

The Longines Hong Kong International Races were a perfect setting for Longines to unveil the official watch of the event, the Conquest Classic Moonphase. Celebrating the refined elegance of equestrian sports, the Conquest Classic line is dedicated to those persons who share the excitement of the most prestigious equestrian events all over the world. The sophistication of this model, including a moon-phase display, makes it an eminently refined timepiece and echoes the excellence and elegance of the stars of the equestrian universe.

Longines has been involved in the equestrian world since 1878, when the brand produced a chronograph engraved with a jockey and his mount. Today the Swiss watch brand’s commitment to these thrilling yet elegant disciplines has led to partnerships with the FEI (Fédération Equestre Internationale), the IFHA (International Federation of Horseracing Authorities), and other prestigious institutions and events of flat racing, show-jumping and endurance.
